Communication and media

Smokefree services was launched in 2008 as the new identity for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's tobacco programme.

"Smokefree Services exists to help people working and living in Glasgow break free from the harmful effects of tobacco"

Since then we have been working hard to ensure that both the public and health professionals know who we are and what we do.

We have produced a range of posters and leaflets promoting the stop smoking services that we deliver - in the community, in hospitals and for pregnant women. We have run a billboard and bus stop advertising campaign and promoted the stop smoking services on local radio.

Locally there has been much more activity, in addition to the campaigns highlighted above, to ensure that people know about the range of stop smoking services that are on offer and how to access them.

We are developing a marketing and communications plan to help to ensure that the public and health professionals understand who we are and what we do and to promote the services that we offer. We are also really keen to understand what people think about our services. We are consulting on the plan at the moment and it will be available here for download in the near future.
