Tobacco Strategies and plans
Smoking levels in Glasgow and Clyde are the highest of any health board in Scotland. We are making progress and levels of smoking are coming down but if we are to effectively tackle smoking we have to do more. We have to work together with other organisations in Glasgow and Clyde, deliver programmes and activities that will really reduce smoking levels, and be well organised and well funded. Basically, we have to work in the same way that the tobacco companies work.
Smokefree services are working with local councils and other partners to produce local tobacco action plans and strategies. These give details of how we are going to tackle tobacco, when we are going to do it and how we are going to measure whether we made any difference.
