‘Raising the issue of smoking' - brief advice course• A course designed to improve confidence & skills in raising the issue of smoking• Training is in a ‘blended' format combining an online section (1 hour approx) with a face to face session (3 hours) Who is this course for?• Anyone who comes into contact with the general public and has the opportunity to raise the issue of smoking• Any NHS staff, those working in other sectors, voluntary staff... the list is endless • The Scottish Government has recommended that all acute sector staff undergo training in brief advice on smoking. ‘Young people & tobacco' training course• A 1 day course designed to improve confidence & skills for those working with young smokersWho is this course for?• Anyone who works with young people & has the opportunity to raise the issue of smoking e.g. youth workers, school nursesReducing children's exposure to secondhand smoke• A course designed to improve confidence & skills for those working with parents / carers to help reduce children's exposure to secondhand smoke inside & outside the home • The course is 4 hours long Who is this course for?• Anyone who has face to face contact with parents / carers of children under 5 years old & also has the opportunity to follow up on initial contact.What's the cost?All our courses are free of charge for anyone who works within the Greater Glasgow & Clyde area.
