What are the Smokefree Services in Glasgow and Clyde?

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Smokefree Services are responsible for a wide range of tobacco projects aimed at reducing the damage from tobacco to people in and around Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Welcome to West Dunbartonshire Smokefree Community Services

We run weekday and evening Stop Smoking Support Sessions in local venues throughout the West Dunbartonshire area. Some of these venues include:

Clydebank Playdrome
Vale of Leven Pool
Dumbarton Health Centre
Clydebank Health Centre
Vale of Leven Hospital

Stop Smoking Support Sessions are relaxed, informal and fun. They last for 7 weeks in total, with each session lasting about an hour. Quitting smoking with a support session is one of the best ways to stop successfully.

We can also offer one-to-one support in exceptional circumstances or telephone support if you are housebound.

As well as support sessions we also offer telephone support to patients who have been through the Hospital Stop Smoking Service.

Hospital Stop Smoking Service

If you are going into hospital and would like to make plans to stop smoking before you come into hospital then please contact us or contact the hospital you are going into and speak to the advisor. For more information please click here.

Smokefree Pharmacy Service

All community pharmacies in West Dunbartonshire are offering one-to-one support to smokers who want to stop.
You'll visit your chosen pharmacy for 5-10 minutes, once a week for up to 12 weeks, at a time that suits both you and the pharmacist. During this time you will be provided with lots of practical advice and support to help you stop smoking. For more information please click here.
